Each year I watch American Idol the fast food equivalent of Pop Music and each year I swear I won't ever watch it again. But I will and I'll blog about it too.

Carly Smithson Goes Home - American Idol April 23rd
Carly Smithson's number was up tonight. Her performance last night was a good one and her exit from the American Idol stage was done with class.
AI doesn't shock me often, but last night's departure of Carly surprised me. I was already blown away that neither Jason nor Brook were in the bottom two, but side-by-side I just thought Carly's "Superstar" outdid Sayesha's "One Rock 'n Roll Too Many."
Oh well, I've been wrong more than I've been right when it comes to this show, but that won't stop me from looking at the final five and seeing the two Davids as the last ones standing. To me Carly was the only one of the rest that could change that conclusion. But hell, who knows?
I was only just beginning to "thaw" when it came to Carly, but it was only due to her "Superstar" performance. Like you it does surprise me that Brooke and Jason were not the bottom two, based on their performances the night before.
Yes, it will probably be the two Davids, but wouldn't it shock us all if it was Jason? Actually, it would probably shock Sir Andrew even more. I can just imagine him "do you mean to say that peculiar chap with the dreadlocks won?" :-)
